Wendell Wade

Mr. Wendell Wade, age 80, of South Fulton, TN,  passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Diversicare of Martin, TN. 

He was born on April 5, 1943 to the late Paul Wade and Alma (Knighton) Wade.

Wendell lived most of his life in this area.  He was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church in South Fulton, TN, where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for many years.  He was a retired electrician for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 6 years.  

He loved horses and playing golf and was a member of the Goodyear Local 878 Union in Union City, TN.  

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Latta) Wade, to whom he married March 7, 1961 in Shawneetown, IL.  He is also survived by two sons, Bobby (Kim) Wade of Staunton, VA, and Jeff (Lisa) Wade of South Fulton, TN; five grandchildren, Cherish (Josh) Parrish of South Fulton, TN, Lauren (Brett) Smalley of Chattanooga, TN, Jacob (Maria) Wade of Staunton, VA, Hunter (Meredith) Wade of Louisville, KY, and Justin (Skyler) Wade of Fulton, KY; twelve great-grandchildren and one brother, Marion Paul Wade of Jackson, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Wade.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 12, 2024, at the South Fulton Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held at the South Fulton Baptist Church from 10:00 am Monday until the funeral hour.  Memorials may be made to the Harvest the Vision Fund, c/o South Fulton Baptist Church, 1500 Broadway, South Fulton, TN 38257.
