Walter "Bud" Olson

Mr. Walter “Bud” Elsworth Olson age 93 of Union City, TN, formerly of Hickman, KY passed away at The Waters Nursing Home of Union City on February 6, 2019.

He was born on June 20, 1925 in Manchester Township, MN to the late Gaylor Olson and Mabel (Thostenson) Olson.  Mr. “Bud” retired as a heavy equipment operator for Midwest Operating Engineers Company in Chicago, IL.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served as Carpenter’s Mate Third Class on the vessel USS Bairoko.  He was of Lutheran faith and had attended the East Baptist Church after moving to the Hickman area.

In addition to his parents, Mr. “Bud” Olson is preceded in death by his wife, Remona Olson; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his step daughters, Glenda (Larry) Langford and Gail (David) Black both of Hickman, KY; his grandchildren, David (Sarah) Langford, Jennifer (Matthew) Albanese, Deanna (Brad) Morris, Adrian (Chapman) Offutt, Lauren (Brian) Arnold; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Annalise Morris, Olivia Albanese, Grant and Haven Langford, Jameson and Natalie Arnold.

A Graveside service for Mr. Walter “Bud” Olson is scheduled for Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hickman City Cemetery with Rev. Henry Callison officiating.

David Langford, Matthew Albanese, Chapman Offutt, Greg Black, Tim Langford, and Jim Major will serve as pallbearers.
