Walter Brian "W.B." Brown

July 24, 1920 — April 27, 2008

Mr. Brown was born July 24, 1920 in McConnell, TN. He spent
most of his childhood in the Dukedom, TN area and was a 1938 graduate of Dresden High School. Drafted into the Army in World War II, he served in the 601st Graves Registration Company 1st Platoon, Quartermaster Corps, in the New Guinea and Luzon Campaigns as well as three small
island operations. He earned a Bronze Star and was discharged in 1945 as a Staff Sergeant. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was active in the American Legion while living in Tullahoma, TN.
From 1954 until 1966 he worked for Union Carbide in Paducah,KY at the USAEC Gaseous Diffusion Plant. From 1966 until 1983 Mr. Brown was
employed by Arnold Research Organization in Tullahoma, TN. He retired in 1983 and moved to South Fulton, TN. He resided at the Golden Living Center in Union City since March 2007.
He was actively engaged in the labor movement throughout his career holding several offices in the OCAW in Paducah and in the IUOE in Tullahoma. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton,KY.

He is survived by 2 sons - Garry Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico
and David Brown of Littleton, Colorado, 2 daughters - Gae Rue Johnson of Flagstaff, Arizona and Ginny Lou Bowen of O'Fallon, Illinois; 9 grandchildren
and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife -Mary Madgalene (McClain) Brown
and his parents - Bill and Delcie (Clark) Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30,2008 at the Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom, TN. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home and after 9 a.m. Wednesday until the funeral hour.
Burial will be in the Good Springs Cemetery.
