Mr. V.L. Blackwell, age 85, of South Fulton, TN died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton, KY.
He was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church and a long time member of the Fulton Country Club. He moved to this area in 1962 from Steele, MO and he retired from farming and the Fields Ashby Lumber Company.
He is survived three children; Phyllis Nelson Campbell and her husband Stewart Nelson of Clinton, KY, Barry Blackwell of Memphis, TN and Gadella Blackwell of South Fulton, TN, two grandchildren; Tonya Mullins of Wingo, KY and Jordan Runions of Murfreesboro, TN, two great grandchildren; Ashton Mullins and Bryson Mullins both of Wingo, KY, a half brother, Johnny Blackwell of Martin, TN, two half sisters, Mona Riveria of Albuquerque, NM and Merreil Kunz of Park City, UT.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gyone Blackwell, his father, JW Blackwell, his mother and step-father Florene Rikard and Frank Haubold.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Tuesday in our funeral chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2PM Tuesday in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, MO. Visitation will be held at the
funeral home from 5-8PM Monday and anytime Tuesday until the funeral hour.
Memorials may be made to the Fulton Country Club, 9307 State Line Road, South Fulton, TN 38257.
