Virginia Bloodworth

Mrs. Virginia Bloodworth, age 79, of Dyersburg, TN, formerly of Hickman, KY, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Church of God in Hickman, KY. Mrs. Bloodworth also coached softball for the Optimus Club in Hickman, KY for 5 years, was an Avon representative for 25 years, a volunteer at the Senior Citizens in Hickman, KY for several years, and a caregiver to many of her family members.

Mrs. Bloodworth was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Laster and Audrey (Wilson) Laster; son Jeff Garrison; brothers Doug Laster, Larry Laster, and Steve Laster; daughter in law, Robbie Bloodworth and sister in law Neva Laster.

She is survived by her husband, Charley Bloodworth of Dyersburg, TN; sons, Bobby Bloodworth and Chuck (Candy) Bloodworth both of Crutchfield, KY; daughter Misty Bloodworth of Dyersburg, TN; brothers, Charles (Debbie) Laster of Paris, TN, Wayne Laster of Hickman, KY, James (Joyce) Laster of Palmersville, TN; sisters, Shirley (Dwight) Martin of Martin, TN, Marcella Laster of Dyersburg, TN; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Virginia Bloodworth are scheduled for Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at Strong Funeral Home on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. until service time.

Doug Laster, Chris Laster, Scotty Johnson, Sam Hartman, Jason Enochs, Jeremy Mathews, Tim Markle, and Justin Markle will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Darnell, Mark Rumfelt, Donny Sutton, John Cagle, Monty Stroupe, and Russell Gordon

The family would like to give special thanks to Jessica Howell and Asera Care hospice for helping the family care for Mrs. Bloodworth, her niece Penny, sister, Macella Laster, and Cheryal Puckett for their constant support over the last year.
