Mr. Stacey Bruce Gilbert was born June 4, 1970 in
Fulton, KY. He passed on December 2. 2023 from
a side by side accident near Martin, TN. He was 53
years old.
Stacey is the son of the late Marvin G. Gilbert of Water
Valley, KY. He is also big brother to twin boys Richard
Ivan Gilbert (August 14, 1971-August 14, 1971) and Ward
Allan Gilbert (August 14, 1971-August 14, 1971).
Stacey is survived by his mother, Nina Kay Crittenden Gilbert,
sister Deanna Gilbert Peevyhouse (Ron) of Martin, TN and
son Zachary Bruce Gilbert of Murray, KY.
He attended Wingo School and then graduated in 1988 from
Graves County High School. Stacey played a little football for
Graves County High School. After graduating, he helped his father
and grandfather farm, then they went into bridge construction.
Stacey later went to work for Goodyear until its closing. He then
went to work at the Local 181 Operating Engineering Union where
he was presently employed as a crane operator.
Stacey was a member of the Masonic Lodge #644 in Cuba, KY and
an active member of the Confederate Riders in Cuba, KY, many
poker runs were held to help Shriners kids. Stacey joined the Water
Valley Baptist church in 1985.
Friends and family all agree, he was a dependable, loyal friend.
One you want on your side because he had your back. Stacey was
an adventurous outgoing going person. He loved being with people,
making them laugh or listening to them to help. But most of the
time, Stacey loved to talk. If you have ever tried to get off the
phone with him, you know what I mean.
His smile was infectious, little rough around the edges but good as
gold inside. Stacey was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Our hearts are broken.
