Samuel (Sam) E. Holly

Mr. Samuel E. (Sam) Holly, age 100, of Fulton, KY. died
December 6, 2014 at the Parkway Regional Hospital in
Fulton, KY.

He was a member of the Cayce United Methodist Church
and was a manager of the U.S. Department of Agriculture
where he served as the Fulton County Executive Director
for 32 years retiring in 1976. He was a member of the
American Legion for 68 years, past member of Methodist
Conference Boards, retired Civil Service, National Association
of Federal Retired Employees and Board of Directors with the
Kentucky Association of Federal Employees. He was a veteran
of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII and also served in construction
with both the U.S. Navy Seabees and also U.S. Marines. He had
lived all of his life in Fulton and Hickman County, KY.

He is survived by a son Wendell Holly of Fulton, KY., a daughter,
Dianna (Robert) Nerren of Hickman, KY, four grandchildren,
Joy White of Southaven, MS., Renee Grogan of Cayce, KY.,
Holly Terrett Alsbrook of Memphis, TN., Bob Nerren of Fulton, KY.,
seven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren,
and a sister, Mable Holdman of Union City, TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Wright Holly, his parents,
Lon B. and Ella Lee (Burnes) Holly, a daughter, Roberta Terrett,
a grandaughter, Elizabeth Raines, and a sister Mayme Vick Cruce.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Cayce United
Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Cayce Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hornbeak
Funeral Home. Mr. Holly will lie in state at the church after 10:00 a.m.
Monday until the service hour.
