Russell Lesley Hall

Mr. Russell Lesley Hall of Dukedom, TN passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his residence.


He was born on May 5, 1933 in Weakley County,


TN to the late Stanley and Myrtle Austin Hall.


Lesley was a member of the New Salem Missionary


Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher of the men's class. He was also a United States Army veteran where he served in the Korean Conflict.


He was a retired truck driver and a school bus driver where he drove for the Weakley County School


System. Lesley and his wife, Janie where the owners and operated the former Halls Grocery in Austin Springs community of Weakley County, TN.


He is survived by his wife, Janie Callahan Hall, whom he married February 12, 1971, a daughter Kathleen Tucker (Randal) Black of Mayfield, KY, two sons;


Jeffrey (Ginger) Hall of Sterling, VA and Rick Hall of Sedalia, KY, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a sister Sarah (H.D.) Poyner of Hoffman Estates, IL and a brother, Elmor James (Phyllis) Hall of Dresden, TN.


In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Carlton and a brother Jimmie Hall.


Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Acree Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Jackson Funeral Home (3600 State Line Rd, Dukedom, TN) from 5-8PM Thursday. Lesley will lie in state at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church from 12:30PM Friday until the hour of service. We ask that you wear a mask for the visitation and services for Mr. Hall if you have not been vaccinated at this time.
