Ruby Byrd

Mrs. Ruby West Byrd, age 94, of Fulton, Kentucky, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 9, 2024 at the River's Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa. She is survived by daughters Elaine (Mark) Allen and Judy (Davie) Stephens; grandchildren Will (Lilly) Allen and Audrey Allen; great-grandson Moses Allen; sisters Joann West, Shirley West, and Gaylon Cantrell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Samuel Byrd; daughter Lynda Jo Byrd; parents Paul and Pauline West; brother John B. West; and young sisters Geneva, Jeanette, and Eleanor West.

 Ruby was a member of Union Church. She had many jobs, including Production Credit, F.H. McGraw, and Garan manufacturing. She also worked with Richard on the farm, from gardening to driving the tractor. She loved her family, friends, and travel. Her favorite trip was to New Zealand and Australia where she was impressed by the “little bitty” koala bears. Most importantly, Ruby was a believer in Jesus Christ, her Savior, and we all can take comfort in the fact she is in heaven with Him. Romans 8:38-39.

 A celebration of life service will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton on Saturday May 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11AM until the service time.
