Robert Ainley

Robert Ainley of Dresden, TN passed away on February 20, 2024, at his home.  He was 93.

He was born on April 8, 1930, in Graves County, KY to the late Dewey and Willie Ellen Harris Ainley. He was a member of the Dresden Church of Christ and was a retired farmer.  Robert was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War and he was the owner and operator of the former Ainley Mobile Feed Mill, he had worked for the Weakley County School Bus Garage and several other places.  He enjoyed working on lawnmowers, tillers and tractors and could fix just about anything.

Robert is survived by his wife of 71 years, Norma Sue Laws Ainley of Dresden, his children Michael Ainley (Vicki) of Paris, TN, Robbie Sue Ainley of Dresden, Deborah Ann Liliker (Freddie) of South Fulton, TN and Roger Ainley (Tracy) of Leitchfield, KY, a twin brother Rubert Ainley of Dresden and a sister Marlene Smith of Novato, CA.  He was Pap-Paw to 8 grandchildren: Michael Keith Ainley, Kimberly Snider (Jason), Angela Hoover, Brett Davis (Andrea), Brittany Jaco (Steve), Joey Liliker (Nicky), Lindsay Irvan (Chris), Blake Ainley (Kim), 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Hardin Ainley and Ray Ainley, 2 sisters Rava Nell Bell and Nadine Mathis and a granddaughter Julie Liliker.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Dresden Church of Christ, 501 Evergreen Street, Dresden, TN with burial to follow in the Sunset Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church from 4-8 pm on Friday, February 23 and from 10 am Saturday until the funeral hour.
