The vivacious life of Pansy Baker concluded upon her return
to her heavenly home on Valentines Day, 2022.
Her lifelong companion and love, John Larry Baker preceded
her in passing in 2018. She leaves behind her daughter Cheree
(and Carl) Hanson as well as her son William Cary (and Kim)
Baker, as well as her beloved grandsons, Zachary, Dustin and
Maverick and 3 great granddaughters. Pansy had many chapters
in her life and seldom was without a project at hand. She was a
beautician; a master seamstress; Girl Scout leader; Pilot Club
member; dedicated farm wife; accomplished fisher; member of
Central Baptist Church; master gardener (she loved her hostas
and water garden); managed the McKinney Baker group home;
performed extensive research with the Weakley County Historical
and Genealogical Society, as well as her family advocacy position
at the Tennessee Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She leaves behind a
legacy of service and breadth of achievements that are astonishing
in their scope. Most of all, she loved her family and the time she shared
with them over the years, at sporting events and especially the adventures
at their cottage on Kentucky Lake. She will be greatly missed for her
spirited presence, amazing sense of humor and constant zest for life
and learning. Heartfelt thanks for family and friends that assisted her
in her final years, and the staff of both Greenbrier Meadows and
Diversacare for their most wondrous and compassionate care.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 1-3 pm. Wear your favorite jeans and bring your endearing stories.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Weakly County
Historical and Genealogical Society, P.O. BOX 894, Martin, TN 38237.
