Mrs. Norma Dale Kindred Underwood, age 92, of South Fulton,TN died early Tuesday, morning,
August 23, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Union City, TN.
She was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church, since 1969, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir. She was also a homemaker. Mrs. Norma was born in Weakley County, TN and moved to Chicago, IL until 1969. She then moved to the Water Valley, KY area and moved to South Fulton,TN in 1996.
She is survived by a son Gregory Glenn Underwood of Memphis, TN, two sisters Sara McAlister of Wingo, KY, Glenda Griffin (Edward) of Union City, TN, a brother Jim Kindred of Fulton,KY six nieces and nephews Billy McAlister of Murray, KY, Sheryl DeGrove of Fernandina Beach, FL, Teresa Fletcher of Union City, TN, Anthony Griffin of Palm Springs, CA, Jacci Burks of Liberty Hill, TX and Carrie Coy of Chicago, IL. Also several great nieces, great nephews and several great great nieces and great great nephews.
Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Underwood, her parents Guy Edward Kindred and Zora Pauline Muzzall Kindred, and a nephew Donnie McAlister.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at 1 pm Friday, August 26 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Dr. Ron Cox will officiate. Celebratory music will be from 12 noon – 1 pm Friday and visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, August 25 from 5- 9 pm and on Friday from 10 am – 12 noon.
Pallbearers will be Billy McAlister, Derek McAlister, Craig Pirtle, Eugene Fletcher, Anthony Griffin, Dave Burks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carolyn Butler, Willowdean Zickefoose, Guynell Gardner, Faye Archie, James Legate, Rebecca Pruitt, Joel Nabors, and Ann Russell.
