Neva Maynard

Mrs. Neva Maynard, age 90, of South Fulton passed away, Saturday September 19, 2020 at The Waters in Union City, TN.

She was born May 21, 1930 in Weakley County, TN to the late DJ and Mary Frances Milan Jones.

Mrs. Maynard was a graduate of South Fulton High School and was a member of the Smith Street Church of Christ.

After marrying her husband Charles,  she traveled with him for 20 years as he served in the U.S. military. After his retirement, the couple returned to South Fulton for her Postal Career and the family farming operation.

Mrs. Maynard was retired from the U.S. Postal service where she worked as a Rural Mail Carrier for many years.

She is survived by three daughters, Susan Maynard Lee (Robert) of South Fulton, TN., Edith Maynard Redish of Chattanooga, TN., and Deborah Maynard Merritt of Jackson, TN.  She is also survived by  four grandchildren, Lisa Lee Bivens (Mike) of South Fulton, TN., James Lee (Christy) of Union City, TN., Cliff Redish of Glen Springs, CO., and Jake Redish of Denver, CO, one granddaughter-in-law Emily Merritt of Memphis, TN; three great grandchildren, Bubba Murray of South Fulton, TN., Madelyn Hogan of South Fulton, TN., Lesley Jones Murray of Union City, TN and  five great great grandchildren, Brylee Jones of Union City, TN., Paislee Jones of Union City, TN., Georgia Pitts, of South Fulton, TN, Holden Murray of South Fulton, TN, Darcy Murray of South Fulton, TN. and one sister Margie Nell Burlison of Sheffield, AL.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Maynard (October 9, 2013) and a grandson Brett Merritt (December 22, 2019.)

Graveside services will be held Monday, September 21 at 2 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery near Dukedom, TN. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service.
