Michael Lynn Place

Mr. Michael Lynn Place, age 78, passed away
in Sharon, TN, Wednesday, June 28, 2023,
where he lived with his wife and two children.
Formerly of Michigan and Southern Illinois. 
Mike loved his family and church and was 
a friend to all he met.

He was born on September 24, 1944 in Pontiac, MI to
the late Lawrence Monroe Place and Anna Bell Holtz Place.

Mike was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ
Latter Day Saints in Fulton, KY. He was a machinist
and tool and die maker for HVAC. 

He is survived by his wife Lou Coleman Place, whom 
he married August 1, 2009, a brother Larry Place of
Perryville, IL, his children: Wade (Mandy) Ratliff of
Harrisburg, IL, Wesley Ratliff of Harrisburg, IL, Brooke
(Ryan) Brasier of Harrisburg, IL, Michael "Mick" (Hollie) 
Place of Shelbyville, KY, Gatha Place Moore of Harrisburg,
IL, Christine Place, a step-daughter Rhonda Drummond of Sharon,
TN, a step-son John Paul (Darlene) Drummond of Martin, TN,
grandchildren: Breanne Wilkinson, Jade Ratliff, McKenzi Ratliff,
Travis Cluck, Anthony Cluck, Karley Ratliff, Tristan Ratliff, Mason 
Ratliff, Laken Moore, Alexander Place, Cadde Drummond, 
Elisabeth Place, Juliette Place, Aaron Finney, Kayla Carrington
and Brittany White, great grandchildren: Briar Smith, Carson Carrington,
Callie Carrington and Atlas White. 

In additional to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife,
Constance Lewis Place, a son Davy Ratliff Place, two sisters: Jeanette Place
and Kathy Place and a great granddaughter, Carly Carrington. 

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, June 30, 2023 at The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (501 Wells Ave, Fulton, KY). Visitation
will be held at the church from 9AM Friday until the hour of service. Graveside
services will be held at 11AM Saturday, July 1, 2023 in the Zion Cemetery in
Ozark, IL for immediate family where he will be laid to rest.
