Michael Vernell Bransford

Minister Michael Vernell Bransford, age 52, of Fulton, KY died Friday, September 22, 2017 in Wheatley, AR.

Michael Bransford was a member of the Brooks Chapel Ministries, where he was a active minister. Michael served in the United States Army at Fort Lewis, Washington where he was a member of the Fort Lewis Boxing Team. After his ETS from the Military, he joined the Army Reserves and later joined the St. Louis Metro Police Department and served on the Police Boxing Team. Michael was also employed by the former Dura Automotives, Fulton, KY for 13 years. After the closing of Dura, Michael attended Draughon's Junior College as a medical assistant. Michael was currently employed by Jones
Logistics in Fulton,KY as a flat bed driver, was a member of the Fulton mentoring program, assisted coaching in the Fulton City Schools, a licensed Phlebotomist,worked for the Fulton County Transit and an Insurance Agent for Woodmen of the World and an avid runner.

Mr. Bransford is survived by his wife, Carol Alexander Bransford whom he married December 22, 1983, daughters; Shelethia LaShaun Bransford and Shameka Michelle Bransford both of Fulton, KY, a neice raised as a daughter Uyvette Douglas Bransford Stepp (Marcus) of Indianapolis,IN, a nephew raised as a son Cedric Michael Bransford of St. Louis, MO, three grandchildren; Alexia Marie Bransford, Andreah Rena Glass, Amariya Shaunece Bransford all of Fulton, KY, two sisters; Shelia Bransford (Patrick) Barnett of Fulton, KY, Mary Louise Blair of Fulton, KY, three brothers; William Herbert Bransford, Jr of New Lisbon, WI, Jeffery Lynn Bransford of
Union City, TN, James Hershel Blair, Jr of Saint Louis, MO, his step mother Ella Bransford of Milan, TN, a grandmother in law Clara Alexander of Fulton, KY. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Herbert Bransford, Sr and Gloria Dean Littleton Bransford Blair, his step-father James Hershel Blair, his great aunt Eva Paschal Minor Baucom and a granddaughter Arianna Michelle Robinson.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 30 at the South Fulton Baptist Church at 509 Forestdale Ave., South Fulton, TN at 1 pm. Interment will be in the Greenlea Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel on Friday, Sept. 29 from 4-8 pm. Mr. Bransford will lie in state at the South Fulton Baptist Church from 11 am Saturday until the funeral hour.
