Mary Ellen Ashby

May 28, 1915 — February 16, 2008

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton,KY & was
a retired Southern Bell Telephone operator for twenty eight years.
She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and had lived
in this community all of her life.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Sylvia Ashby Yates of Fulton, KY
and Donna S. Ashby Welch of O'Fallon, MO; 5 grandchildren: Teresa Ann Welch of Treasure Island, FL, Mark S. Welch of O'Fallon, MO, Renee Yates Hempel of Union City, TN, Debra L. Peters of St. Peters,MO & Jason Yates of South Fulton,TN. 6 great grandchilren: Tara Beth
Ward Williams -Fulton,KY,Carly Ann Welch -O'Fallon, MO, Christopher Hull - St. Peters, MO, Ricky Hempel - Union City, TN, Vincent Yates & Spencer Yates, both of South Fulton,TN. & 2 great great grandchildren:
Shelby N. Welch and Mylie K. Welch both of O'Fallon, MO.
A brother - Charles Green of Swansea, IL and 2 sisters: Bettye
Williamson of Fulton, KY and Ruth McAllister of Hermitage, TN.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband- Wallace Qualls Ashby,
her parents - Annie Laura (Stallins) & Alonzo Walker Green, 2 sisters:Zula Pierce and Christine Pierce;4 brothers:Billy Green, James Green, A.W. Green, Jr. and Roy Green.

Graveside services will be held at the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens
Mausoleum at 2 pm Wednesday, February 20,2008. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and on Wed. until time to leave for the cemetery for services. Memorials may be made to the Lourdes Hospice P.O. Box 7100, Paducah,KY 42002-7100.
