Mary Elizabeth Wright slipped quietly and peacefully away from us on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital Palliative Care unit in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was formerly from South Fulton and Union City, TN and currently resided in Kernersville, NC.

Mary was born May 27, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas to John B. Potts McIlwain and Vira Tansil McIlwain. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Water Valley Pentecostal Tabernacle.

Mary was survived by her daughter, Joanna Woodruff Burrow and husband Charles Brent Burrow of Kernersville, NC. Sons, Charles Coleman Woodruff of Knoxville, TN., Jeff Brandon Woodruff and wife Nita Houston Woodruff of Lynchburg, VA., William Duffy Woodruff of Duluth, MN. and James Robert(Bob) Woodruff and wife Ann Helvig Woodruff of Mahtomedi, MN., and ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Mary is also survived by a dearest younger brother, Charles McIlwain, dearest younger sisters Barbara Simmons and Margaret Kennedy, all of Union City, Tn., numerous and precious nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Wright in 2005,her parents, an infant brother Marion McIlwain, beloved brother John Glen McIlwain, close and loving sisters Judy McIlwain and Anna Jean (Jeannie) Hollingsworth.

The family will receive friends and family Friday, May 22, from 5 to 8 pm at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, KY. Services will be at 1:00 pm. Saturday, May 23, 2015, with interment in the Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Musical selections will be presented by great grandson, Hamilton Provonsha.
