Martha Mahan

Mrs. Martha Moore Mahan, age 94, of Fulton, KY died December 6, 2011 at the Haws Memorial Nursing & Rehab Center in Fulton.

Mrs. Mahan graduated from Fulton High School at the age of sixteen and went on to obtain a degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky. Her parents owned and operated the Fulton Daily Leader for many years and she spent most of her life working in various roles with the Fulton Daily Leader. She had lived in this area all of her life.

She was an avid golfer, Kentucky Wildcat fan and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton,KY.

She is survived by a daughter and son in law Ann Mahan Smith (Bill)
and a son and daughter in law Robert Moore Mahan (Brenda), all of Fulton,KY, a brother Jack Hoyt Moore of Fulton,KY, two grandchildren John Nanney of St. Louis, MO and Bradley Nanney of Fulton, two great grandchildren Abbie and Avery Nanney, both of Fulton, a nephew, two nieces, three great nephews and two great great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Fields
Mahan and her parents Hoyt and Gladys Robinson Moore.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 8 at the Greenlea Cemetery. After the graveside service, there will be a visitation held at the First United Methodist Church from 12 noon - 1 pm, then a memorial service will be held at 1 pm.
