Lawrence Bill Everett

Lawrence “Cap”. Bill Everett, age 98, of Hickman, KY, passed away March 1, 2019. He had been a resident of the The Arbors of Union City, TN several years prior to his passing.

Services for Bill will be held March 4 at 1:00 P.M. at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Bro. Jason Sipes will officiate. Bill was of the Baptist Faith.

Bill was born in Bondurant, Fulton County, KY on April 27, 1920 to the late Lawrence Breckinridge and Lillie Belle Everett.

He worked the Mississippi River as a tow boat operator, later on retiring from the Corps of Engineers as a Survey Boat Pilot. In his spare time he enjoyed driving heavy equipment, having built a lot of ponds in and around Fulton and Obion counties.

He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Brandon of Union City, TN; Kay Franco of Concord, NC; Joan (Bob) Zimmerman of Concord, NC; one son David (Amy) Everett of Reelfoot Lake, TN; nine grandchildren, Robin Chandler of South Fulton, TN; Jacquine (Larry) Young of Pheonix, AZ; Wayne (Amy) Oliver of Charlotte, NC, Nesha (Mike) Coleman of Concord, NC; Craig Inman of Concord, NC; Andrea Jackson of Cornelius, NC; Bill (Emily) Oliver of Charlotte, NC; Keith (Jill) Bransfield of Raleigh, NC; Tonya (Butch) Estes of Willington, FL; Son-in-law Jerry Helms of Marco Island; and several great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Hilda Mae, a daughter Shirley Helms and an infant son John Larry Everett, four sisters and three brothers.
