LaVerne Smith Cruce

January 10, 1936 — January 27, 2018

Mrs. LaVerne Smith Cruce, age 82, of Canton, MI passed away in
Nashville, TN on January 27, 2018.

She was born in Humphreys County, TN on January 10, 1936 to the late
Norton Lorenzo Smith and Alice Elizabeth Wheeler Smith Wiggam. She
was married to the late Walter Thomas "Tommy" Cruce and they were
married for 55 years.

She was a member of the Praise Baptist Church in Plymouth, MI, was a member of the Red Hat Society, and member of the Summit on the Park
in Canton, MI. Mrs. Cruce had retired from the Packing Corporation of America where she had worked for over fifty years.

She is suvived by a daughter Belinda Kay Cruce Brockwell (Rickie) of
Martin, TN; she was grandmother to Shane Thomas Brockwell of Mena,
AR, Lindsey Dean Brockwell of Martin, TN, Rachel Malene Radionoff Jones of Somonauk, IL, Daniel Jalen Radionoff of Northville, MI, Aaron Andrew Judson Radionoff of Springfield, MO; great grandmother to Aidan Thomas Brockwell and Mikayla Rein Brockwell, both of Mena, AR, Benjamin Jerek Jones and Jackson Brandon Jones, both of Somonauk, IL; a niece Vivian Lee Smith (Steve) May of Hurricane Mills, TN, two nephews Wayne Carnell (Cathy) Smith of Paris, TN and David Edward Smith of Garden City, MI, two brothers Winfield Joshua Smith (Martha) of Paris, TN and Norton Edward Smith (Yvonne) of Plymouth, MI.


In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death
by a son Jeffrey Lynn Cruce and her stepfather Glen Vernon Wiggam.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 31 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with Bro. Cecil May III officiating. Interment will be in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10 am - 1 pm.

A memorial service will be held in Plymouth, MI on March 29 at 11:00 am at the Praise Baptist Church, 45000 N. Territorial Road.
