Kevin Yates

John Kevin Yates, of Medina, TN was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on May 23, 2023 at the age of 59, just 4 days before his 60th birthday.  He left this earth while on vacation at the beach with his family.

He was a graduate of North Side High School in Jackson, TN, and the University of Memphis with a business degree.  He spent a majority of his life working in insurance.  In his retirement, he has enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his first grandchild, Kade.  He was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Yates, and his four children, Sarah Mullins (Ethan), Rachael Lemonis (Tony), Ashley Boroughs (Will), Tyler Yates; his grandson Kade Mullins.  He also leaves behind his sister Karen Sims(John) a brother Jeffrey Yates, aunts Ann Peebles(Ricky) and Sarah Cantrell (Jim) along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Howard "D" and Nellie Yates.

Funeral service will be held at Pilot Oak Baptist Church near Water Valley, KY at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 27 with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church from 12 noon Saturday until the funeral hour.

Memorials may be made per Jenny and family request to Kevin's daughter Ashley and her husband Will's adoption fund (venmo-@ashley-boroughs-6) or the Pilot Oak Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Jerry Coltharp, 4001 ST. RT. 94 West,  Wingo, KY 42088.
