Kathleen Riesenberger Jones of Fulton and Lexington, KY and wife
of Dr. John L. Jones, Jr. died Monday, October 13, in Lexington after a brief illness. She was 89.
She was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Naples, NY. She
attended the University of Michigan. She served in the American Red Cross during World War II, with assignments in the U.S. & in Manila,the Phillipines.
She met Dr. Jones in Manila, where he was serving in the U.S. Army. They were married in Manila in April 1946 and later that year moved to Fulton, where
Dr. Jones joined his father's dental practice. Mrs. Jones was active in civic and educational affairs, including the Red Cross,Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts,
Banana Festival, Fulton County Geneological Society,Fulton City Schools PTA, the Fulton Public Library and Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her five children and seven grandchildren: Steve Jones and wife Mary E. Bruns of Summit, NJ and their children, Matthew and Ellen, also of Summit; Dick Jones and wife Ellen K. Jones of Louisville, KY; David Jones and wife Pyddney K. Jones of Lexington,KY and their children, Will and Katie, both of Austin, TX; Christine R. Jones of Memphis, TN and Dr. Alan Jones and his wife Elizabeth R. Jones of Fulton and their children Shelby, Jack Henry and Caroline, also of Fulton.
She also leaves a nephew, James R. Reed, and his wife Jane Reed, of Hampton, VA and a niece, Mary Reed Buxton, and her husband, Jim Buxton of St. Petersburg, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Duffy Riesenberger,her sister, Lois R. Reedher ; her brother, William F.Riesenberger; her niece,
Barbara R. Morrison and her grandson, John Murphy Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday,October 18,2008 at 11 am at the Trinity Episcopal Church. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home.
