Joyce Tibbs

April 18, 1934 — September 16, 2020

Mrs. Joyce Tibbs, age 86, formerly of South Fulton, TN passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law  in College Grove, TN.
 
She was born on April 18, 1934 in Graves County, KY to the late John Newton McNeely and Margaret Grissom Crews.
 
Mrs. Tibbs was a member of the Fulton First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a former President of United Methodist Women. She was also a former Vice President of United Methodist Women Memphis Conference and served on multiple committees and was a dedicated volunteer in her church and community.  Mrs. Tibbs was a volunteer worker for the Baptist Memorial Hospital Gift Shop and loved reading and playing the piano.
 
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jim Melton of College Grove, TN,
four grandchildren, Joey (Andrea) Melton of Savannah GA, Jennifer (Craig)  Dame of College Grove TN, Jeremy (Brittney) Tibbs of Mt. Juliet TN, and Michael (Stephanie) Tibbs of Melissa TX and thirteen great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Eugene "Gene" Tibbs and two sons; Jeff Tibbs and Mark Tibbs.
 
Graveside services will be held at 2PM Sunday at the Water Valley Cemetery. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service. 
 

Memorials made be made to First United Methodist Church or Shriners Hospital.
