John E. Johnson

November 10, 1918 — January 14, 2008

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II and
was a member of the American Legion in Gary, Indiana. He had
worked for the Veterans Administration for 33 years as a supervisor and dietitican. He had lived in this area for the past 10 years.

He is survived by 4 nieces: Loren Brown of Fulton, KY, Linda Johnson
of Paducah, KY, Denise McCuiston and Debra Cherry both of Atlanta,
GA; 4 nephews: Curtis Johnson of Elkhart, IN, Michael Johnson and
Gregory Avery both of Minneapolis, MN and William Johnson of St. Paul, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents- Ruth (McDonald) & Cub
Johnson, 2 sisters - Willie Lee Johnson & Gladys Grant and 2
brothers - Julius Johnson and Sonny Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19,2008 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial in the Greenlea Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Saturday until the funeral hour.
