John Joseph Hood

Mr. John Joseph Hood, age 77, of Water Valley, KY passed away on October 26, 2019 at the home of his sister.

He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam and he had been an electrician for the Chrysler Corporation. He had lived in this area for the past 14 years.  He was born on January 29, 1942 in Detroit, MI to the late John Elston Hood and Eleanor LaRou Hood.

Mr. Hood is survived by a son Chris Hood of Dover, NH and a daughter Barbara Hood of Tullahoma, TN; a step daughter Sandra Schroeder of Port Saint Lucie, FL and a step son Jesse Dixon of Kokomo, IN, 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; 7 sisters DeLaura Winters of St. Clair Shores, MI, Norrita Hood of Detroit, MI, Susan Anderson of Water Valley, KY, Ellen Frey of Rochester, IN, June Hood of MI, Caroline Baker of St. Clair Shores, MI and Victoria Wheatley of MI and 2 brothers Robert Hood of McKinney, TX and John E. Hood of Fulton, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Jean Miller Hood, a sister, a brother and two step daughters Debra Petty and Andria Fickle.

A memorial mass service will be held at 8:30 am on November 17th at the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Fulton,KY.
