John Avent

Mr. John Avent of Fulton and formerly of South Fulton died Thursday at the Parkway Regional Hospital.
He was of Baptist Faith and was a retired Banbury operator for General Tire Company in Mayfield KY. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer. He came to this area from Hickory Valley TN in 1950.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Jeffries) Avent of South Fulton TN to whom he married June 19, 1948 in Benton Co. MS, six sons, Willie (Wanda) Avent of Mayfield KY, Percy Lee (Jeanette) Avent of South Fulton TN, Robert L. Avent of Casa Grande AZ, John Henry Avent of South Fulton TN, Bobby Avent of Phoenix AZ, Joey (Frauke) Avent of Lexington SC, four daughters, Dorothy (Charles) Randolph of Milwaukee WI, Thelma Louise Wakefield of South Fulton TN, Dwan Avent of Gallatin TN, two sisters, Julia Osler
of Fulton KY, Clara Kemp of Broken Arrow OK and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents,William and Annie B. (Phimisee)
Avent, two daughters, Kathryn Ann Avent and Jwan Johnetta Avent, a son, five brothers, George Washington, Mose, Robert, James, and William Avent, two sisters, Pearl Polk, Georgie Avent and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday in our funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the Greenlea Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10AM Wednesday until the service hour.
