Joan Dowdy

On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, Joan Dowdy, loving wife and mother of
two children, passed away at the age of 97.

Joan was born on January 8, 1923 in Fulton, KY to Dean
and Lorelle (Boaz) Collier. On August 23, 1941, she married
Gene Dowdy. They raised a son, Pat Dowdy and a daughter,
Edye Ortiz.

She was a member of the Smith Street Church of Christ and had
retired from the former Ferry-Morse Seed Company.

Joan is survived by a son, Pat (Patsy) Dowdy of Glenwood Spring,
CO and a daughter , Edye Ortiz of South Fulton, TN, four grandchildren;
Jess (LeAnn) Dowdy of Abilene, TX, Jody (Brad) Jordan of Glenwood Springs,
CO, David (Sarah) Ortiz of Germantown, TN, Lori (Clifford) Rollins of Mayfield,
KY, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren plus one
on the way.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,
Gene Dowdy and a brother, Fred D. Collier.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday in our funeral chapel with
burial to follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held
at the funeral home from 11AM Saturday until the hour of service.
