Janice Valaret Vincent Lowry, age 83, of the Pilot Oak community passed away in the early morning on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at her daughter’s home. She was born on September 18, 1940 in Austin Springs, Tennessee to the late Minnice and Mary Jane (Kennedy) Vincent. She was retired from the banking industry and had lived most of her life in this area.
She is survived by two sons, Keith (Rita) Lowry of Pilot Oak, Kentucky and Kris (Lynn) Lowry of Birmingham, Alabama; a daughter, Carmen “Suzy” (Mark Jenkins) Lowry of Pilot Oak, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Vincent (Jessica Clark) Lowry, Patrick (Stefanie) Lowry, Brian (Shelby) McMillin, Jarrod (Deidra) McMillin, Brooke (Reid) Maclellan, Drew (Nicole) Lowry, Wade (Barbara) Lowry and Sara Lynn (Eric) Stocking; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Ward and June (Corky) Stinnett; niece, Shannon (Dennis) Gerli; and two nephews, Kevin (Brenda) Ward and Greg Stinnett.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Allen “Jimmy” Lowry; a nephew, Jeff Stinnett; and a brother-in-law, Bob Ward.
Jan decided to donate her body to a medical research institute. Jan did not want a funeral or visitation; rather she requested that her family and friends gather at a Celebration of Life service in her honor on June 15, 2024 at Lowry Farms located in Pilot Oak, Kentucky with more details to follow.
