James Henry Shell

Mr. James Henry Shell, age 76, of Union City, TN, formerly of Hickman, KY, passed away at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

James was born on March 7, 1947 in Hickman, KY to the late Hubbard and Thelma (Cavashere) Shell. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served 6 years, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. James was a member of the Harris Methodist Church in Union City, TN. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and spent much of his time outdoors.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Shell, four brothers, Julian, Eddie, Johnny, and Jeff Shell, three sisters, Martha Shell, Jean (Shell) Powell, and Marsha (Shell) Murray.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Judy (Ross) Shell, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved dearly.

Funeral services for Mr. James Henry Shell will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Strong Funeral Home with Pastor JoNell Copeland and Pastor Dale True officiating. Burial will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens with military rites.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Strong Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
