Mr. James Alton Choate, age 91, of South Fulton, TN died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Baptist Health of Paducah.
He was a member of the South Fulton United Methodist Church, a
United States Army veteran and a member of the Water Valley Masonic
Lodge #756 for over 65 years. Mr. Choate retired from the former Reelfoot Packing Company, he also worked for Bunch Brothers for 20 years, drove a truck for Holland Brothers for 14 years and worked at Shawnee Steam Plant where he worked on the first contract on Lake Barkley as a crane operator.
He is survived by his wife Mary Virginia Smith Choate, two daughters; Anne Carol Smith of Coldwater, MS and Susan Choate of Newbern, TN, a son Dan Choate of Fulton, KY, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Eula Floyd
Choate, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Wednesday in our funeral chapel with burial to follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11AM Wednesday until the funeral hour.
