He played professional baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals farm system and matriculated to the University of Kentucky where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and from which he recieved a bachelors's degree in engineering. He then entered the Air Force, serving in Korea as a first lieutenant with the Tactical Air Command as a reconnaissance photographer. Following his discharge, he returned to the University Of Kentucky and completed his Masters of Business Administration. Mr. Nall then began his career with Alcoa in Pittsburg and continued it with Alcoa in Chicago, Cleveland, Lancaster, PA and Bettendorf, Iowa, from where he retired and returned to Owensboro.He enjoyed pursuing his interests in fishing, photography, bird-watching, all college sports and particularly University of Kentucky football, astronomy, music, computers, and many things electronic. He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and its Tom Greib Sunday school class, the Owensboro Rotary Club, an the Loyal Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Phillips Nall; his children and grandchildren, George Phillips Nall, his wife Leslie, and their children Sophia Ruth Nall, George Langehough Nall, Christopher Jacob Nall, and Mitchell Carl Nall, all of Minneapolis MN; Thomas McDonald Nall, his wife Rachelle,and their children Thomas Loscin Nall and Nathaniel Ledesma Nall, all of Atlanta GA; Jane Willis Prizant, her husband Loren, and their child Teller Hayes Prizant, all of Louisville KY;his brother Dr. Thomas Martin Nall of Ft. Lauderdale FL; and a cousin Judy Jones and her husband John of South Fulton,TN.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 PM Wednesday in our funeral chapel. Private burial will follow after visitation.
