Gaye Upton Haynes, 66, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky passed away at 9:43a.m. June 30, 2023 at her residence in Hopkinsville, KY.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:30p.m. on Sunday, July, 9, 2023 at the First Christian Church in Hopkinsville. Dr. Milton West will be officiating. Dogwood Funeral & Cremations of Hopkinsville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will take place from 2:00p.m. until the service hour at the church. A reception at the church will follow the service.

 

A native of Fulton, Kentucky she was born on April 17, 1957 the daughter of Avery Guy Upton, Jr. and Eva Faye Williamson Upton. She met and married Lou Haynes, Jr. who preceded her in death. She later married Pablo Sanchez, III whom also preceded her in death. After graduating high school Gaye attended college and received her Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. She was a teacher in the state of Georgia until she retired. She was also the former owner of Fulton Furniture Company and was a member of the Christian County League of Women Voters.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands Lou Haynes, Jr. and Pablo Sanchez, III

 

Survivors include her son: Nick Haynes (Kayla) of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter: Jaye Ellen Haynes of Nashville, Tennessee; sister: Sharon Upton Byrd (Gene) of Fulton, Kentucky; grandchildren: Charley Faye Haynes; Dawson Haynes; and Gavin Haynes; niece: Jenna Lynch (Jared) of Mayfield, Kentucky; nephew: Kevin Byrd (Laura) of Fulton County, Kentucky. She is also survived by two furry children, her cats Rudy and Blu Sanchez.
