Mr. Fred Harold Murphy, age 75, of Hickman, KY
passed away Monday, April, 22, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on August 28, 1948 in Oakton, KY
to the late Carl Murphy and Marcine Clark Murphy.

Fred was a United States Army Veteran, where
he served in Vietnam. He retired from the former
Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City, 
TN and lived all of his life in this area.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews:
Chuck (Ellen) Murphy of Hickman, KY, Kristi (Chris)
Pence of Greenfield, TN, Jenny Lynn Murphy of Tupelo, MS,
Nick Guess of Hickman, KY, Brandon Guess of Carterville,
IL, Christina (Michael) Wilcox of Johnson City, IL, Grant 
Guess of Rockford, IL, Josh Guess of Frankfort, KY and 
Tammy Esquibel of Liberal, KS, three brothers-in-law: 
Raymond (Sandra) Guess of Hickman, KY, Alvah (Melissa) 
Guess of Carterville, IL, Larry Guess of Union City, TN and 
longtime friends: Terrell Harrison and Charles Harrison both
of Hickman, KY 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara
Guess Murphy, his siblings: Charles Murphy, Sr, Tommy Murphy, James
Murphy and Mattie Sue Blincoe.


Pallbearers will be Chuck Murphy, Chris Pence, Austin Pence, Hayden
Murphy, Nick Guess and Brandon Guess. Honorary Pallbearers will be:
Terrell Harrison, Charles Harrison, George Hale, Tripp Bond and Murphy 
Bond. 

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Murphy will be held at 1PM Thursday, 
April 25, 2024 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel-Hickman (903 Broadway St.)
with burial to follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the
Hornbeak Funeral Chapel-Hickman from 11AM Thursday until the hour of 
service.
