Mrs. Ernestine Doughty, age 96, of the Chestnut Glade community
passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on June 17, 1927, in Hickman County,
KY to the late Ernest Stephenson and Pearl Pharis
Stephenson.

Mrs. Ernestine was devoted member of the Pleasant View Missionary Baptist
Church in Dukedom, TN, 67 years.
She lived all of her life in Weakley County.

She is survived by two daughters: Tresa (Bobby) Gordon of Dresden, TN
and Glenda Reagan of Martin, TN, two sons: Jerry (Jean) Doughty of
Dresden, TN and Bobby Doughty of Martin, TN, ten grandchildren,
fifteen great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Danny Hazlewood of Gadsden, TN.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband
Baxter Montreal "Treal" Doughty, a daughter Brenda Hazlewood;
four sisters and four brothers.

Mama lived her life serving her Lord & Savior, through visits, witnessing
to others and her community as a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.
She also loved her husband and family and everyone she met. She made
a difference in so many lives by living what she believed in.

She was a hard-working lady, she had previously worked for Kellwoods in Dresden, TN for many years.
In addition, she drove a school bus for Weakley County Schools and worked in the cafeterias at Martin,
and Dresden for a combined 30 years,
all while working by her husband's side milking cows, and running a farm and
raising her children. She retired in 2010. She continued to always
put others ahead of herself. She loved life and was truly a
blessing to all, but most of all she loved the Lord and was at peace when he called her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ernestine Doughty will be held at 2PM Sunday,
May 19, 2024, at the Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church in Dukedom, TN
with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Hornbeak
Funeral Chapel from 4-8PM Saturday, May 18, 2024 and visitation will be
held at the Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church from 11AM Sunday until
the hour of service.
