Emma Jean Phillips Burnette

Mrs. Emma Jean Phillips Burnette of South Fulton passed away Saturday at Fulton
Nursing and Rehab.
Emma Jean was born in Fulton County, KY on July 21, 1925 to the late Fred Evans
and Jessie Taylor Evans.
She was a floral designer, a Pink Lady at Parkway Regional Hospital, a member of
the Hospital Auxiliary and Red Hat Society. She was a member of First Baptist Church
of Fulton and had lived in the area all of her life.
Emma Jean is survived by her sons, Sydney Charles (Peggy) Phillips of Waco, TX, James
Albert (Emma) Phillips of Union City, TN and a daughter, Nena Gail Phillips (Bob) Shelton
of Fulton, KY, four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Moore Phillips, who was a letter
carrier with the Fulton post office, her second husband, Lester Burnette, a daughter, Retha Ann Phillips,
a sister, Frances Brown and a brother, Billy Wayne Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 7 in our chapel with burial to
follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 PM to
8 PM.

Street, Freehold, NJ 07728.
