Elnora Clifton

Elnora Clifton, Route 1, Water Valley, KY. Born December 10, 1927, died May 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron Brown Clifton, whom she married in 1950. She later married Ray Boyd who died in 1998. She was pre-deceased by her youngest child Patrick Humphrey Clifton who died at the age of 7 in 1961; parents W.W. (Bill) and Edna Humphreys from the Fulgham community and more recently her sister Evelyn Brown.

Elnora worked for Henry I. Siegel Co. in payroll for almost 40 years. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Old Cumberland Presbyterian church where she and Brown were the first couple to marry in the church. She was one of the three female elders
and served as clerk of the elders for many years.

She is survived by her children, Pam Clifton Hagan of Louisville, KY and Phil Clifton (Deborah) of Water Valley, KY; Grandchildren Amie Tooley (Tim), Zach, Nick and Emma Tooley, and Greg Clifton (Hannah), Libby and Jack, brothers George Humphreys (Jetty), David Humphreys (Carole), and Clifford Humphreys (Janice) and a sister-in-law Rose Clifton. She also has many loving nieces and nephews.

She was a member for many years of the Order of the Eastern Star, Water Valley where she served in several leadership roles.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, May 9 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 am Tuesday until the funeral hour.
