Ellen Rice

January 13, 1949 — November 2, 2020

Mrs. Ellen Rice, affectionately known as "Miss Ellen", age 71 of Union City,
TN and formerly of South Fulton passed away Monday, November 2, 2020
at the Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN.

She was born on January 13, 1949 in Midland, TX to the late W.T. "Dub" and
Darris Butler Haglar.

Ellen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton. She taught
Pre-School at the First Baptist Church for 36 years and also taught
Sunday School and was the former Children's Choir Director. Miss Ellen
enjoyed camping, crafts and was an avid sports fan for her
grandchildren. She was also a graduate of the Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX.

She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Rice II whom she married July 24,
1971, a daughter Sarah (Ronnie) Brown of South Fulton, TN, a son Charles
Avery "Chuck" (Ann) Rice III of Franklin, TN, six grandchildren; Madison Hope
Brown and Brock Avery Brown both of South Fulton, TN, Charles Shepherd Rice,
Elizabeth Grace Rice, Laura Frances Rice and Mary Carter Rice all of Franklin,
TN and two sisters; Swan (Paul) Archinal of Amarillo, TX and Susan (Mike)
Duncan of Abilene, TX.

Memorial services will be held at 11AM Friday at the First Baptist Church
with Pastor Stephen Cavness and Dr. Kevin Wright officiating. Visitation
will be held from 10AM Friday at the First Baptist Church until the hour of
service. We appreciate your help in maintaining state mandated COVID
restrictions by wearing a mask and maintaining the minimum of six feet
distancing.
