Mr. Edward R. Holt, age 81, of Fulton died March 11, 2013 at the Haws Memorial Nursing & Rehab Facility in Fulton,KY.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton,KY and was a U.S. Army veteran. He had been the owner of the former City Super Drug Store and was a pharmacist. He had been a member of the Fulton -
South Fulton Lions Club for over 40 years, was a member of the American Legion, a member of the First United Methodist Church Board of Directors, was a former Den Leader for the Cub Scouts and was a former President of the Banana Festival. He had lived in this area all of his life.
He is survived by four daughters Ann Holt Newton of Bartlett, TN, Ellen Reid I'Anson of Friendswood,TX, Denise Postell of Locust Grove, GA and Cathy Bennett of West Des Moines, Iowa and a son C. Michael Coleman
of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren Dalton Coleman, Reid I'Anson, Ross I'Anson, Sam Newton, Tom Newton, Mathew Bennett, Heather Bennett, Ashley Wait and Whitney Wait and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Caroletta Samuels Holt, his parents Ernestine (Reid) and Simon R. Holt, a daughter Susan Love Holt and a son Fred Coleman.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, March 15 at the Greenlea Cemetery in Fulton.
Visitation will be at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel after 11 am Friday until time to leave for the cemetery.
