Doris Jewel Lattus
October 26, 1924 — September 12, 2017
Doris Jewel Burcham Lattus, (92), passed away in God's hands on September 12, 2017 the same day as her own mother, Fannie McDaniel Burcham did in 1977.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 58 years, Hugh Leonard Lattus, her parents, Robert Elbert Burcham, Sr. and Fannie McDaniel Burcham. Her many relatives are buried in Clinton, KY (Hickman Co.) Cemetery, Antioch Cemetery, Hickman, KY City Cemetery and Union City, TN Cemetery. In addition to her parents, her older sister Robbie Burcham Bedwell and younger brother Robert Elbert Burcham, Jr. and nephew, Bob Burcham predeceased her.
Doris loved her hometown, the Hickman community and she supported every philanthropic event that occurred there. She was actively engaged with such organizations as Fulton County Homemakers, Hickman Chamber of Commerce, School PTA's with her children and Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society. Her lifelong hobby was ACBL bridge playing in area communities with her many friends and partners.
Left to cherish wonderful memories of her are her daughter, Barbara Lattus Risner (Maurice) of Shelbyville, KY and her son Don Hugh Lattus (Deborah Hutchins) of Hickman, KY; her much adored grandchildren, Jason Donald Lattus (Ashley Major) and Carrie Genet Lattus Miesner (Matthew). Her great grandchildren, Jake Donald Lattus and Max Noah Lattus brought so much joy to her in her remaining years. Nieces and a nephew of immediate family treasured her dearly: Jennifer Burcham Coffman, Robert Bedwell and Mary Anne Bedwell Shaw.
Special caregivers in her last few years: Denise Smith, Nancy Kunselman, Marilyn Sanson and JoAnn Boblitt helped her to fulfill her days.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, September 15 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman, KY with burial to follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will also be at the church from 9 am until the hour of service.
