David Clinton Thompson

David Clinton Thompson, age 59, of Prospect, KY and formerly of the Fulton/South Fulton area died August 6, 2014 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.


He was born in Fulton, Kentucky on March 5, 1955 to parents Charles and Beverly Thompson. He graduated from Fulton City High School in 1973 and received a degree in Pharmacy from The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 1978.

He retired in May from Jewish Hospital, where he worked as a pharmacist for 34 years. He was a member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, the Veterans Drug Club, and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was an active member of St. John United Methodist Church. He loved playing basketball, cheering on the Wildcats, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on, but most importantly he loved his family. He was a dearly loved son, brother, Daddy, Granddaddy, and friend.

David is survived by his father Charles, his sister Sandra (Jerry) Joyner, his brother Maxwell (Donna) Thompson, his children Alison (Mark) Johnson and Andrew (Sarah) Thompson, his grandchildren, Samuel Kincaid Johnson, Claire Madison Thompson, Lydia Kay Johnson, Andrew David Thompson, Jr., and Charles Edward Thompson, and is a beloved nephew and uncle to many.

He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Coulter Thompson.


Funeral service will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel on
Monday, August 11 at 2 pm. Interment will be in the Greenlea
Cemetery in Fulton. Visitation will be at the funeral home
from 5-8 pm on Sunday and anytime after 8 am Monday until
the hour of service.


A memorial service will also be held on Friday, August 15 at the St.
John United Methodist Church in Prospect, KY at 2 pm. Visitation
will be at the church from 1 pm until the hour of service.
