David Allen Johansen

September 3, 1921 — April 23, 2008

He was a member of the Water Valley Pentecostal Tabernacle. He was retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. where he was employed for 33 years. He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was a Military Policeman
for the 95th Infantry Division. He served in Germany, France, Holland and Belgium.He came here moving from Illinois and North Dakota.

He is survived by his wife Ida Lou Williams Richardson Johansen to whom he married March 17, 1961 in McHenry IL. 6 sons and daughter-in-laws - Gary and Lynette Johansen of San Jose CA, Charles and Rhonda Richardson of Tupelo MS, John and Kathy Johansen of Tupelo MS, William and Cheryl Johansen of Kenosha WI,
Roger and Penny Johansen of Somers WI and Keith and Penny Johansen of Martin TN. 1 daughter Cheryl and Jeff Hartleroad of Dyersburg TN. 2 brothers Russell Johansen and wife Jeanette of Minot ND and Gerald Johansen and wife Delina of Ryder ND.22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents William(Bill) and Lena Allen Johansen. 1 daughter Sandra Kaye Johansen and 1 brother Robert Johansen.

Funeral services for Mr. David Johansen will be held at 2 PM Sunday at the Water Valley Penecostal Tabernacle. Burial will follow in the Water Valley Pentecostal Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hornbeak Funeral Home from 5 to 8 Sat. Mr. Johansen will lie in state at the church after 1PM Sunday until the funeral hour.
