Christopher Murray

Mr. Christopher Murray, age 67, of South Fulton, TN
passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on September 26, 1954 in Long Beach, CA
to the late Jim Murray. He was raised by his paternal 
grandparents, Charles and Ethel Murray.

Christopher was a member of the Last Outpost Ministries,
where he was involved in ministering to Uganda, Kenya, 
Baptist Children's Hospital in Alabama and Love a Child Ministry,
in Haiti. He was a United States Navy veteran where he
served in Vietnam as a helicopter and jet mechanic. Christopher 
had worked for Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) where he 
retired as a pipeline inspector. He was also a member of the 
Local #614 Pipefitters in Nashville, TN, the #228 Yuba City Boilers 
Makers Union and he was a reserve deputy for the Obion
County Sheriff's Department for several years. He lived in this
area most of his life. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jewell Smith Murray, whom he married
September 26, 1980, a daughter Tonya (Chad) Rushing of South 
Fulton, TN, a son Josh Murray of South Fulton, TN, his Canine 
Companion Lacy Blue, his honorary children: Elijah and Sarah of
Uganda, four grandchildren: Abigail (Tully) Moore of Rives, TN,
Payton (Kayla) Rushing of Murray, KY, Noah Rushing of
Dresden, TN and Adon Christopher-Paul Rushing of 
South Fulton, TN and a brother, Tim Murray of Arnold, MD. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Sunday, May 1, 2022
in our funeral chapel with burial to follow in the Zion Cemetery
in Oakton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-7PM 
Saturday.
