Mr. Charles Shepherd, Sr of South Fulton, TN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Gallatin Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Gallatin, TN and is celebrating in heaven with our heavenly father and loved ones. He was born February 24, 1934 in Obion County, TN.
He married the late Allyne Baker Shepherd on June 14, 1953 and they shared 58 years together in marriage and partnered in raising three children. They were blessed to have 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Charles was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church and was employed by Reelfoot Packaging of Union City, TN and retired from Pepe's Pizza of Nashville, TN. He enjoyed his family, golfing, sweets, gardening and collecting golf balls.
He is survived by his sons Charles "Sonny" Shepherd, Jr (Sue) of South Fulton, TN and Jeff Shepherd (Bridget) of Gallatin, TN; and his daughter Kathy Wade (David) of Swansea, IL; his grandchildren Kelly (JA) Key of Union City, TN; David Shepherd
of South Fulton, TN; Christina (Richardo) Sanchez of Collinsville, IL; Amanda Wade of Reston, VA; Kayla Wade of Hermitage, TN; Mason Shepherd of Nashville, TN; Anna Grace Shepherd of Gallatin, TN; and his brothers, Jimmy Lucy of Fulton, KY and Johnny Lucy of South Fulton, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nela Smith Shepherd Lucy and
Thomas Shepherd, Sr; his brothers, Thomas Shepherd, Jr and Winston Lucy; his sisters, Estelle Underwood, Monette Harding, and Carolyn Malray; his step sisters, Ruth Crews, Frances Bailey, Lois Watson, and Irene Poole and his step brothers, Fred Lucy and Robert Lucy.
Services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in our funeral chapel with Dr. Ron Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10AM Saturday until the funeral hour.
