Bonnie Coffey Poynor

Ms. Bonnie Louise Coffey Poynor, age 82, of
Hickman, KY went to be with her Savior on
Wednesday, December 27, 2023 after a long
battle with ALS-Lou Gehrigs Disease. 

She was born on July 5, 1941 in Memphis, TN
to the late Stowe Coffey and Evelyn Martin Coffey

Bonnie was an avid driver, she wrecked her first car
as a teenager and her last car before we took her 
car keys away a few years ago. She and her mischievous
friends once rolled a tractor tire down the courthouse steps. 
She rumored to have participated in more than one drag
race in her moms car.

She loved to cook, play golf and travel and she dearly loved her
friends and family. Bonnie loved sweet tea and could make a 
mean chocolate pie. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel 
comfortable and included. 

Bonnie was involved in her community, a lifetime member of First 
Baptist Church in Hickman; as a good Baptist she held down the 
back pew. She worked for the Citizens Bank for 25 years and was a
founding member of Hickman's Rotary Club, where she served in leadership
positions in both local and districts levels.

She is survived by a son Keith (Stephanie) Poynor of Tampa, FL,
a daughter Kristi (Mike) Looney of Calvert City, KY, four grandchildren:
Taylor (Whitney) Looney of Dover, TN, Lauren Looney (Clint) Reed of
Symsonia, KY, Jack Poynor and Jayne-Anne Poynor both of Tampa, FL, four 
great-grandchildren: Eli, Waylon, Luke and Crew and a brother, Dennis
(Quertha) Coffey of Hickman, KY.

Funeral services for Ms. Bonnie Coffey Poynor will be held at 2PM Saturday,
December 30, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Hickman with burial to follow
in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church
from 10AM Saturday until the hour of service.
