Mr. Bob Craven, age 81, of Fulton died Thursday afternoon, May 4, 2017 at his residence.
He was a 1954 graduate of Fulton City High School, 1963 graduate of
Murray State University, manager of the former Varsity and Capitol
Theater in Murray, KY, owner of the former Railroad Salvage in Fulton
from 1963-1972, retired from former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as a
supervisor with 22 years of service, served as Fulton City Commissioner from 1968-1978, member of Fulton Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years,past chairman of Fulton Airport Board/Virgil Craven Memorial Field (2014), private pilot with over 1000 hours of flight time, was an avid deer and turkey hunter, was a member of the Parkway Church of Christ in Fulton where he served as an elder.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Grooms Craven of Fulton whom he married June 5, 1958, two daughters and sons in law, Kim Turner (Berry) of South Fulton, TN and Cara Lynch (Mike) of Fulton, KY and a son Rob Craven of Ft. Lauderdale,FL, five grandchildren and their spouses Kaitlin Laws (Nathan)of Wingo, KY, Jared Lynch (Jenna) of South Fulton, TN, Caina Lynch of Nashville, TN, Beau Craven of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, and Demi Huckabee(Keith) of DeSoto, TX, a brother and sister in law Harlan Craven (Sue) of Fulton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil Lee Craven and Georgia Lee Curtis Craven, a grandson Caleb Turner, and two brothers Curtis Craven and Virgil Lynn Craven.
Funeral service will be 1 pm on Monday, May 8 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will be in the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 –8 pm on Sunday.
