Billy Joe "Bill" Roney

Mr. Billy Joe "Bill" Roney of South Fulton died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Roney was a member of the Parkway Church of Christ in Fulton, KY
and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin and also
received his Master's Degree at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He retired in 1990 after serving over 30 years in the Obion County School System as principal, teacher and coach, also served with Tennessee Department of Human Services in Gibson County Special Projects, Shelby County Food Stamp Director and State of Tennessee Human Services in Nashville, TN and served as Director in Dyer County. He had also served in the United States Air Force Reserves and lived in Obion County most of his life.

Bill Roney is survived by his wife Patsy "Pat" Cardwell Roney of South Fulton,TN, whom he married March 22, 1959, a daughter and son in law Cristal Pafford (Billy) of Gibson, TN, two sons and a daughter in law Andy Roney and Jay Roney (Jennifer Bard Roney), all of South Fulton, TN; three grandchildren Suzanne Bell of Sarasota, FL, Joanna Roney and Jack Roney,both of South Fulton, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jewel and Louise Petty Roney.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 8 at 1:30 pm at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will be in the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 am Wednesday until the funeral hour.
