Berta Lewis

Mrs. Berta Streber Lewis, age 85, formerly of South Fulton,  passed away Sunday October 11, 2020 at Pinnacle Assisted Living Center in Knoxville, TN.

She was born on April 22nd, 1935 in Rotz, Bavaria, Germany to the late Johann Streber and Kreszenz Streber.

Mrs. Lewis was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. John Newman Catholic Church in Knoxville TN.

Berta is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald Lewis and Lorie McCollum Lewis, Farragut, TN and Thomas Lewis and Susan Miller Lewis, Knoxville, TN. She is survived by one sister, Anna Streber Hauser, Stamsreid, Germany. Berta is survived by three grandchildren, Tyler Lewis, Knoxville, TN, Hillary Lewis Crowder (Spencer), New York City and Erica Lewis, Knoxville, TN.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lloyd Lewis, and four brothers, Fritz Streber, Franz Streber, Konrad Streber and Heinrich Streber.

Berta was a long time employee of the Henry I. Siegel Company in South Fulton, TN. Afterward she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant in Knoxville TN and retired at age 80. She had a love for life and enjoyed staying active by caring for others.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10am Friday, October 16^th at Obion County Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the service at the South Fulton City Hall Harvey Vick Room.
