Ben Davis

February 14, 1935 — March 25, 2020

Mr. Benjamin McClellan M. Davis, age 85, of South Fulton, TN passed away
Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

He was born on February 14, 1935 in Orleans Parish, New Orleans, LA to
the late Benjamin and Julia Finnin Davis.

Ben was a member of the St Edward Catholic Church and was a United States
82nd Aiborne Veteran. He worked for the former Ferry-Morse Seed Company,
where he was Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. He was also a
member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ben will be remembered for his zest of life, infectious smile, and generous spirit.
He was always extending a kind, encouraging word, and loved serving others.
He radiated positivity with his ability to see the bright side of life, and had a gift
of making everyone feel special.

Ben loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and all sports. He was frequently seen around
town proudly wearing his LSU or Saints’ gear. Ben’s priorities and biggest passions
were his family, friends, and relationship with the Lord. He leaves a legacy of being
a shining example and role model of a hardworking, patriotic, loving, spiritual, and
giving man.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joy Boudreaux Davis, two daughters;
Jane Davis McCullough (Jeff) of Brentwood, TN and Sally Davis Tormey of
Franklin, TN, a son Timothy Davis (Shelia) of Union City, TN, six grandchildren;
Katy McCullough Austin of Nolensville, TN, Sam McCullough of Nashville, TN,
Ben Davis of South Fulton, TN, Paul Davis of Union City, TN, Blake Tormey
of Franklin, TN, Elizabeth Tormey of Franklin, TN and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Cary Benjamin
Davis and a sister, Anna Gele.


A mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers and in memory of his son, donations may be made to the McKnight
Brain Institute, a foundation dedicated to finding a cure for brain cancer.
