Mrs. Barbara Ann Nabors, age 85, of South Fulton, TN
passed away at the Clinton-Hickman County I.C. F. in
Clinton, KY on March 29, 2023.
She was born on October 2, 1937 in Fulton County, KY
to the late Buford E. and Maudie Belle Clark Bennett.
Mrs. Barbara was a member of the South Fulton Baptist
Church. She worked for the former Ferry-Morse Seed
Company and had lived in this area all of her life. Barbara
was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was
an exceptional mother who was very active in the lives of
her children. As her children grew and had families of their
own, that love and dedication grew to include her cherished
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From school and
sporting events to holiday parties and get togethers, Barbara
had the ability to make every occasion special. Barbara enjoyed
to travel the US and spend time at the lake. She also enjoyed
playing cards with friends. She was a wonderful cook and
took great pleasure in making meals for her family and friends.
Barbara had such a kind, sweet soul and never met a stranger.
Her upbeat and feisty nature will always be remembered.
Barbara was very inspirational and had many words of wisdom
to offer to those around her. She would often remind her loved
ones, "Don't sweat the small stuff." She was also very strong in
her faith and love for God, which inspired her to become a
founding member of the SFBC’s Widows Group, Golden Girls
Breakfast Club.
She is survived by her husband Joel Nabors, whom she married
June 3, 1956, a daughter Donna N. Taylor of South Fulton, TN
and a son Joel A. “Joey” Nabors (Lisa) of South Fulton, TN;
four grandchildren: Lance Taylor (Tiffany) of South Fulton, TN,
Blake Taylor (Shanna) of Mayfield, KY, Zachary Nabors (Angie)
of South Fulton, TN and Hope French (Lucas) of Paducah, KY;
eight great grandchildren: Benton Taylor, Clark Taylor, Oaklyn
Taylor, Logan Davis, Ellison French, Ezra French, Liam Nabors
and Lily Nabors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-
law Tommy Taylor and three brothers Tommy Bennett, Charles
Bennett and Jimmy Bennett.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 4 at 1 pm at the
South Fulton Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Cox officiating, Visitation
will be at the church from 11 am Tuesday until the hour of service.
