Barbara Harris Holt

Mrs. Barbara Short Harris Holt, age 85, of Dresden,
TN and formerly of South Fulton, TN passed away
Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Jackson-Madison
County Hospital in Jackson, TN.

She was born on February 21, 1938 in Winston County,
AL to the late William Nelson Short and Georgie Irene 
Morgan Short.

Barbara was a member of the McConnell Baptist Church 
and was a retired seamstress, where she worked at several
different clothing production companies. She was also a 
master gardener. 

She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Hayden
Holt, a son Timothy Smith of Martin, TN, two step daughters:
Phyllis Lee and Susie Moss of South Fulton, TN,  a step son Bobby Smith of Cadiz, Ky two grandchildren:
Christopher Smith, Matthew Schingle and her siblings: Emmett Earl
Short of GA,  Katie Sue Robertson of Paragould, AR, Robert Wayne 
Short of Blytheville, AR, Linda Fay Knicker of Pocahontas, AR.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse Smith and Joe Thomas Harris, a son Jimmy Smith, a daughter Brenda Schingle, a step-daughter Karen Harris Poole, siblings: Will Arthur Short, Mary Lee Hinto,
Maxine Hartson, Cora Lee Young, Carl Edward Short, L.V. Short,  G.W. Short,
Peggy Ann Dickinson and Lucille Bone, a grandson Alexander Schingle, two step-grandsons: 
Michael Lee and Craig Moss.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in our 
funeral chapel with burial to follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. 
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11AM Wednesday until the 
hour of service.
